How to deal with a Jinn

I am a young professional from New York, I am Muslim, I was leading a “confused” life. Let me explain. I know vanity is favorite sin for the Iblis but I have a very strong scientific background one of the best and after I experience ‘jinn-satan’ like you did my understanding has changed. Now I don’t know what to do. Our office is haunted and people know it and they accept it the way it is – part of the world or freaking garbage they say – and they make fun of it “open sesame open”. I mean don’t think that they make fun of me – I don’t talk about it definitely, but it seems they like it.
It is the proof of everything I believe for me. I have been looking for answers and I found it. And these guys who are doing evil are all over me. I guess I hurt them but I don’t know.
I don’t know what to do now. One hand a proof – I was grown up watching the documentaries like light particles-waves, matter is made up of waves etc, and reading Quran – on the other hand this freaking garbage. They sometimes give me some information but generally cause trouble.

Answer

I can understand your problems and can assure you that you are not the only one going through it. I know that what you are going through is a frustrating experience from Satan-Jinn. However, that’s what life is: a trial and nothing more. I am not suggesting that nothing can be done about it. But you will have to be patient and careful in dealing with the enemy of yours.
What is happening to you should be in some ways a help in strengthening of your faith in that you are getting a confirmation that truth is not just what you can see and observe: there is more to truth than what meets the eye. Also, you are now hopefully in a better position to know what the truth is about the contacts some people in the States are claiming to make with the non-physical world.
I don’t really know what might have caused it to happen to you. You may have committed some error or you may not have done so. The important thing is that it’s happening to you and you should prepare yourself mentally to give it a fight. The kind of frustration I can gather from the tone of some part of your letter is not going to help you.
What can you do about it? Well, first of all, ignore what is happening as much as you can. The more you get irritated by it, the more it encourages your enemy. If you will ignore it, your problems might escalate in the beginning to die down later, insha’Allah. Don’t let your daily routine get disturbed by it. Don’t try to communicate with them. If you get any information from them, just ignore it.
Read more and more of the Quran, specially the last two chapters: al-Falaq and al-Naas. Also remember the Almighty as frequently as you can. His remembrance scares Satan away.
